The best resorts in Seychelles, ranked across every island group, start with Four Seasons Resort Seychelles on Mahé: 67 pool villas and suites on a forested slope above Petite Anse, half an hour by road from the international airport, with no second flight or boat to organise. Below it sit nine more, from North Island and Six Senses Zil Pasyon for private-island seclusion to Raffles and Constance Lémuria on Praslin, Le Domaine de L’Orangeraie on La Digue and three resorts on the far-flung outer islands. Each entry below says what that resort does better than the others, because in Seychelles the island you pick shapes the holiday as much as the hotel.

Prices are indicative and were last updated in October 2026. Rates change with season, exchange rates and availability, so check live prices before booking.

Rates are for two adults, usually with breakfast, before the 15% VAT, the 10% service charge some resorts add and the SCR 100 per person nightly levy charged at larger hotels. Several resorts price in euros, so the dollar figures move with the exchange rate. For a full week, the Seychelles cost guide shows how hotel, transfers and meals add up to the US$8,000–US$13,000 most couples spend on a luxury trip.

How this ranking works

I ranked each resort on five things: the quality of its beach and swimming, the size and privacy of its rooms, how much it gives you to do, how easy it is to reach from Mahé airport, and how well the price matches what you get. A resort that scores well on all five ranks above one that is spectacular on a single measure but awkward elsewhere. That is why a 30-minute drive from the airport lifts Four Seasons Mahé to the top, and why North Island, which beats it on privacy, sits second: it costs about six times as much and needs a helicopter.

The list deliberately spans the archipelago. Mahé gives you the shortest transfers and the most to explore. Praslin and La Digue hold the beaches people come to photograph. The private and outer islands trade variety for space and wildlife. If the island choice is still open, the Mahé vs Praslin vs La Digue comparison covers how the three inner islands differ, and the guide to Seychelles private island resorts goes deeper on the one-resort islands.

The best resorts in Seychelles, ranked

1. Four Seasons Resort Seychelles: best all-round resort in Seychelles

Four Seasons wins the top spot because it does the most things well at once. The villas climb a steep, green hillside above Petite Anse, a sheltered crescent of sand in Mahé’s south-west, and every one has its own plunge pool. Below them is one of the better swimming bays on the island, a spa set high on the slope, and enough restaurants and bars to fill a week without repetition. Because the airport is roughly 30 minutes away by car, a late international arrival doesn’t cost you a night, which is the single biggest reason it suits a first trip or a stay of four or five nights.

  • Best for: first visits, short trips and couples who want a strong beach plus good restaurants
  • Transfer: about 30 minutes by road from Seychelles International Airport
  • Rates: from around US$1,750 a night in low season and around US$2,200 in high season, with breakfast, before service and taxes
  • Don’t miss: a day out to Mahé’s west-coast beaches and the market in Victoria, which an onward-island resort can’t offer so easily

Good to know: villas higher on the hill have the bigger views but a longer buggy ride to the sand, so ask for a lower villa if anyone in your party dislikes steps.

Petite Anse is sheltered enough for easy swimming most of the year, which is one reason Four Seasons tops this list.

2. North Island: best private island for complete seclusion

North Island ranks second because no other resort in Seychelles matches its scale of privacy. There are just 11 villas: ten beachfront villas of around 450 square metres and one larger villa for two, on an island where decades of replanting and wildlife reintroduction have rebuilt the native forest. The rate is close to all-inclusive, covering meals, minibar, a daily spa treatment, a daily activity or dive and one private dining experience a day. It drops below Four Seasons only on cost and access, since a stay starts at around six times the price and every arrival is by helicopter.

  • Best for: milestone celebrations and honeymoons where privacy outranks budget
  • Transfer: about 20 minutes by helicopter from Mahé, charged separately and priced on request
  • Rates: from around US$10,550 a night for two on the full-board package, before VAT and levy; rates vary widely by date, so check live prices
  • Don’t miss: a walk with the island’s conservation team, who monitor nesting turtles and reintroduced birds

Good to know: helicopter baggage is limited to about 20kg per person, so pack in soft bags.

3. Six Senses Zil Pasyon: best private island for scenery and wellness

Zil Pasyon occupies Félicité, a granite island about 6 kilometres from La Digue, and it ranks third because it gives you a private-island stay at a fraction of North Island’s cost while keeping Praslin and La Digue in reach. Around 30 pool villas and a handful of residences are set among huge boulders, many on the slopes with long sea views, and the spa is one of the most complete in the country. Dining runs across several venues inspired by Seychelles’ spice trade, including a chef’s table and a wine vault. It suits couples who want a wellness focus with the option of a boat day to La Digue’s beaches.

  • Best for: couples, spa lovers and anyone combining a private island with Praslin or La Digue
  • Transfer: about 25 minutes by shared speedboat from Praslin or La Digue, or 20 minutes by helicopter from Mahé (around €1,100 one way for up to four)
  • Rates: from around US$1,050 a night in low season and around US$1,300 in high season, with breakfast, before taxes
  • Don’t miss: the spa pavilions set among the granite on the hillside

Good to know: many villas sit high on the slopes, so you’ll rely on buggies to reach the beach and restaurants.

4. Anantara Maia Seychelles Villas: best for villa privacy on Mahé

Maia is the Mahé resort to book when the villa itself is the holiday. There are only 30 of them, each roughly 250 square metres with an infinity pool, spread across about 12 hectares of gardens on a peninsula between Anse Louis and Anse Boileau, and each comes with its own butler. With so few guests, the restaurants and pool bar rarely feel busy, and the spa is small and personal. It ranks below Four Seasons because the beach is smaller, the restaurant choice narrower and the price a little higher, but for a couple who plan to spend most of the day at their own pool, nothing on Mahé is more private.

  • Best for: honeymoons and couples who want space and personal service without a helicopter transfer
  • Transfer: around 35–60 minutes by road from the airport, depending on traffic
  • Rates: from around US$1,900 a night in low season and around US$2,150 in high season, with breakfast, before taxes; half board adds about US$230 per person a night
  • Don’t miss: a private dinner arranged by your butler on the villa deck at sunset, since the west-facing peninsula catches it well

Good to know: the beach villas give the easiest access to the sand, while the hillside and peninsula categories trade that for wider ocean views.

5. Raffles Seychelles: best pool villas on Praslin

Raffles sits on Anse Takamaka on Praslin’s north-east coast, and its strength is that every one of its 86 villas has a private pool, from hillside units of about 125 square metres up to four-bedroom residences. Most look across the water towards Curieuse, and the slope means even the garden categories catch a sea view. There are several restaurants with Asian, Japanese and Creole menus, a large spa, a kids’ club and free non-motorised water sports. It ranks just above Lémuria because the villas are more private, although Lémuria has the better beaches and more on site.

  • Best for: couples and families who want a pool villa as a base for exploring Praslin and La Digue
  • Transfer: a 15-minute flight or about an hour by ferry from Mahé, then a short drive across Praslin
  • Rates: from around US$850 a night with breakfast, before taxes (high-season rates vary widely; check live prices)
  • Don’t miss: Anse Lazio, one of Praslin’s best-known beaches, is a short drive away

Good to know: the resort listed refurbishment work running through October 2026, with some restaurants closed temporarily, so check what is open if you travel around then.

6. Constance Lémuria: best for beaches and activities on Praslin

Lémuria, at Anse Kerlan on Praslin’s north-west tip, has the most varied grounds of any resort in Seychelles. Its 105 suites and villas spread over three beaches, one of them Anse Georgette, which many people rate among the finest in the country, and it has Seychelles’ only 18-hole championship golf course, three tiered pools, a spa and tennis. Suites without pools keep the entry price close to Raffles, while the larger villas suit families or groups. If you want a resort where something different can fill each day without leaving the grounds, this is the strongest choice on the inner islands.

  • Best for: golfers, families and couples who like to be active
  • Transfer: close to Praslin airport, reached by a 15-minute flight from Mahé
  • Rates: from around US$900 a night in low season and around US$1,100 in high season, with breakfast, before taxes
  • Don’t miss: an early swim at Anse Georgette before anyone from outside the resort arrives

Good to know: a 10-night minimum stay applies over Christmas and New Year, so a short festive trip needs a different resort.

7. Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Desroches Island: best for families

Desroches is a flat coral island in the Amirantes, about 3 square kilometres in size, and Four Seasons is the only resort on it. It offers more than 70 villas and residences, from one-bedroom pool villas to a seven-bedroom estate, all with direct beach access, plus a kids’ club, a dive centre, tennis and bicycles for every guest. Families rate it highly because children can roam on bikes, visit the island’s giant tortoises and snorkel straight from the beach. It ranks seventh because the flight adds cost and fixed timings, and because the landscape lacks the granite drama of the inner islands.

  • Best for: families and active couples who like cycling, diving and long empty beaches
  • Transfer: 35-minute scheduled flight from Mahé’s domestic terminal; return fares in 2026 are €500 per adult and €420 per child, plus VAT
  • Rates: from around US$1,750 a night with half board
  • Don’t miss: cycling to the island’s tortoise sanctuary and the far beaches at low tide

Good to know: flights run at set times, so a late international arrival usually means a night on Mahé first.

8. Waldorf Astoria Seychelles Platte Island: best for diving and modern design

Platte is a small coral island about 130 kilometres south of Mahé, and the Waldorf Astoria, built in 2024, is the newest resort on this list. Its 50 pool villas start at about 141 square metres and go up to a ten-guest residence, and the resort has several restaurants, a spa, a kids’ club and a PADI five-star dive centre on a reef that sees very few other divers. Interiors are clean and contemporary, a clear contrast with the timber-and-thatch style of most Seychelles resorts. It ranks eighth because the transfer is the most expensive scheduled flight here and the island offers little to explore beyond the resort.

  • Best for: divers and couples who prefer contemporary design and several places to eat
  • Transfer: shared resort flight of about 20–25 minutes from Mahé, €550 per adult and €425 per child (2 to 11) return; some offers include flights on longer stays
  • Rates: pool villas from around US$2,150 a night in low season and around US$2,550 in high season, with breakfast, before taxes
  • Don’t miss: a guided dive on the outer reef with the resort’s dive team

Good to know: the resort has run offers with free flights for stays of five nights or more between June and October, which can cut the total noticeably.

9. Denis Private Island: best for an unplugged nature stay

Denis is a coral island on the edge of the Seychelles Bank, and its resort keeps things simple on purpose. There are 23 cottages and villas along the beach, with Wi-Fi only in the main building and no phones or televisions in the rooms. Full board is included, and much of the food comes from the island’s own farm, which produces vegetables, fruit, eggs and yoghurt. Turtles nest on the beaches, and the conservation team tags and monitors them. It ranks ninth because the rooms are less lavish than those above, but for a calm, honest island stay at this price it has few rivals.

  • Best for: nature lovers and couples who want a digital detox
  • Transfer: 30-minute flight from Mahé, €550 per person return, flying five days a week from May 2026
  • Rates: from around US$1,250 a night for two in low season and around US$1,700 in high season, with full board, before taxes
  • Don’t miss: a tour of the farm, which supplies much of what appears at dinner

Good to know: only the Beach Villa has a plunge pool, and the flight’s luggage limit is 15kg checked plus 7kg hand baggage.

10. Le Domaine de L’Orangeraie: best place to stay on La Digue

La Digue has no big luxury resort, and L’Orangeraie is the best of what it does have. About 63 thatched villas sit on a granite hillside just north of the La Passe jetty, with a spa among the boulders above the lagoon and a few pool villas for more privacy. The point of staying here is the island itself: you can cycle to Anse Source d’Argent before the day-trippers’ boats arrive and be back for lunch. It ranks tenth because the beach in front is modest and the rooms are simpler than anything above it, but it is also the lowest price on the list.

  • Best for: two or three nights on La Digue as part of an island-hopping trip
  • Transfer: ferry from Mahé or Praslin to La Passe, then a few minutes by buggy
  • Rates: from around US$450 a night in low season and around US$650 in high season, with breakfast, before taxes; pool villas start at around US$1,000
  • Don’t miss: renting bicycles for the whole stay, since La Digue has very few cars

Which resort should you book?

For a first trip of five nights or fewer, I’d book Four Seasons on Mahé and use a hire car or driver for one or two days out. For a week, two bases work better than one: Mahé or Praslin for the first half, then a private island to finish. Raffles or Lémuria makes the Praslin half easy, with La Digue as a day trip or a two-night stop at L’Orangeraie. The Seychelles island-hopping itinerary sets out how those nights fit together.

Honeymooners should weigh Maia, Zil Pasyon and North Island against each other: Maia for privacy without an extra transfer, Zil Pasyon for a private island at a sensible price, North Island if cost is no object. Families will get the most from Desroches or Lémuria. Divers should look at Platte first. The Seychelles honeymoon guide covers pacing for a romantic trip, and the private island vs Mahé resort guide helps if you can’t decide between those two styles of stay.

Season affects which resort will suit you best. The south-east trade winds blow from roughly May to September, bringing swell to exposed south and east-facing beaches and making boat transfers bumpier, while April and October to November are usually the calmest months. The best time to visit Seychelles guide explains which coasts stay sheltered in each season.

My verdict: Four Seasons Mahé is the best resort in Seychelles for most people because it combines a sheltered beach, private-pool villas and a short airport transfer. If you can stretch to two bases, pair it (or Raffles or Lémuria on Praslin) with a private island, choosing Zil Pasyon for value, Desroches for children and North Island when privacy matters above everything else.
