Why Lagoon Edit exists
Lagoon Edit started with a planning problem. From Dubai, where the site was founded, the Maldives, Seychelles and Mauritius are only a few hours away, which makes them easy to dream about and surprisingly hard to choose between.
Which island suits a first honeymoon? Is a seaplane worth the extra cost? How many nights is enough before the transfers eat into the trip? The answers were scattered across resort brochures, forum threads and booking sites, and most guides listed the same famous resorts without saying who they were wrong for.
Lagoon Edit is the guide we wanted: one place that compares whole trips rather than nightly rates, and is clear about the trade-offs.
What you’ll find here
Guides to luxury islands across the Indian Ocean, the South Pacific, the Caribbean, Asia and the Mediterranean. There are head-to-head comparisons for the decisions people struggle with most, resort collections built around a kind of trip, day-by-day itineraries, and planning guides on seasons, costs, transfers and how long to stay.
Every guide is researched from current official sources, the resorts’ own published details and live booking rates, and is revised when prices, transfers or rules change. The date of the last update sits at the top of each article, and how we review explains the process in full.
Who writes it
Lagoon Edit was founded by Sushant, who writes and edits the guides. Each guide carries its author’s name and is written in the first person, so when one says “my pick” or “I’d choose”, that is the author’s judgement drawn from the research: the transfer, the villa, the food, the price and who the trip is for. No resort is a favourite by default, and anything sponsored is labelled as sponsored.
If you’re stuck between two islands or two resorts, or you spot something that has changed, get in touch. Messages go straight to the editor.
